Early NBA Impressions

Wink Early NBA Impressions
Well I guess I'd have to put upon myself to post an NBA thread to get some opinions. Yes, football is on full tilt right now but hey, I love basketball too. So from what I seen so far, the Lakers are the team to beat but Kobe's knee and health will be in question. They got basically upgrades getting Steve Blake and Matt Barnes of their bench and seem to just truck along winning and are still undefeated (8-0). The only other team like the Lakers flawless is the Hornets at (7-0)...WTF? Chris Paul wanted out of NO but mgmt was smart & put descent people around him (Ariza was a good pickup) and seem to be playing with a purpose. Others teams in the West (Spurs, Thunder, Suns, Blazers, etc.) are pretty even and we'll have to see what's happens later in the year after they beat each other up & what teams come out injury free. The East are 3 teams...Celtics, Magic, and the Heat...everyone else, pretty much anyone's game on those last 5 playoff spots at the end of the year. The Celtics are the team to beat to me. They pretty much have 5 all stars starters even though they're older, they can still put the ball in the hole & Shaq adds a defense presence to an already good defensive team & Rondo is probably the best point guard in the league. The Magic will be there for sure. Their talent is too good along with the Heat. Three superstars in their prime can get by winning games just on their talent especially in the weak East. Well that's it for now and welcome any opinions on the NBA, NFL, MMA and gaming of course. Peace out playas Smile

RE: Early NBA Impressions
East:
Miami is having synergy issues. Those stars can't seem to play together yet and the problem is surprisingly D-Wade. I thought he was more of a team player than that.

The Celtics are looking good now but they are old and injuries will hit them hard around game #20 this season. My boy Ray Allen is playing like the Ray of old and should he keep this pace all year, they will return to the finals.

West:
Here in Oklahoma City, the anticipation is high for the Thunder. Sadly, the youngest team in the league shows its age by losing games it should win. Unless they mature significantly throughout the season, they'll only make it to the Western Conference Finals.

As far as the Lakers go, I've never liked them. They are an imposing force but I think now is more of a culmination of teams being scared of them. I honestly see them as the only obstacle the Thunder will have this season outside of their own immaturity.

I've been slippin' on my MMA pimpin' and I plan to address that very soon. I'm happy Brock's weaknesses have been exploited. I can't wait to see Kenny Florian do his thing again but the Lightweight class is light on superstars. Rashad Evans needs to stay fresh because while he was more conditioned than Rampage in their match-up some time back, he looked really rusty.

I would follow NBA more but seems the Pistons are in another rebuilding year and none of their games are on tv around here. I believe its gonna be and Celtics vs Thunder finals.

I like your thinking nemesis! I really do! Lakers are now showing vulnerability and I that's good for the league. I sincerely hope my OKC Thunder can make it to the Big Show! I can't wait to finally go see a game when Ray Allen and crew come to OKC. Nice!

RE: Early NBA Impressions
Durant and Westbrook are just too powerful...maybe a mid season trade may add their missing piece
